The guys talk about their new song You suck at love

Simple Plan's History

In the mid 1990's, Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Comeau found a punk-rock group called Reset. In 1997, Reset produces their first album and the group becomes popular. In 1998, Pierre decides to concentrate on school, so he leaves the group. One year later, his passion for music is so strong that he leaves school and forms a new group with Chuck, Jeff and Sebastien; his friends from Beaubois. A little after David Desrosiers, who had taken Pierre's place in Reset, join the guys and Simple Plan is born. Pierre, Chuck, Seb, Jeff and David start to write their songs inspired by their favorite artists such as: Lagwagon, No use for a name, Pennywise, Cheap trick, Beach boys and Elvis Costello. Simple Plan gives some concerts in Montreal and participates in different festivals. In 2001, the group signs with Lava Records. One year later, in March 2002, the guys produce their first album called No pads, No helmets... Just balls. They become popular with songs like I'm just a kid, Addicted and Perfect. Simple Plan performs at Jam des Neiges and is immediately asked to join Sugar Ray on their tour. In 2003, the group sold one million discs all around the world and releases a DVD called A big package for you, which shows the guys as they are trying to take over the world. In 2004, the group produces a song called I don't wanna think about you for the movie Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed and another song for the movie New York Minute called Vacations. This same year, the guys release their second record entitled Still not getting any..., which includes the singles Welcome to my life, Shut up!, Perfect world, and Untitled. With this second record, Simple Plan joins the Educ Alcool campaign don't drink and drive. The song Untitled becomes the theme song for the campaign. In 2005, the guys create the Simple Plan Foundation, which helps people in needs. The foundation has three main goals: helping teenagers through their passage into the adulthood, helping young people who are suffering of illeness, and supporting musicotherapy. No pads, No helmets... Just balls and Still not getting any... made Simple Plan popular all around the world. In 2008, the group releases their third record Simple Plan. This record contains hits such as: When I'm gone, Save you, Your love is a lie, No love and Generations. For three years, Simple Plan promotes this record and starts writing songs for their new record, which will be released on June 21, 2011. This fourth record will be called Get your heart on!.
